Item description
Vintage original 8x10 in. US single-weight glossy photograph from the 1950's crime drama, THE SCARFACE MOB, originally made for broadcast on television in 1959 and produced by Desilu Productions Inc. This is the story of how a group of incorruptible federal lawmen helped
put 1920s' Chicago gangster Al Capone in prison.
The image features an exterior nighttime medium shot of Elliot Ness (Robert Stack) as he leans in near the open car window to look at George Ritchie (Paul Dubov) while LaMarr Kane (Peter Leeds) and another man in the shadows stand behind him. This feature film was originally made in 1959 to be broadcast on television and was released theatrically as a feature film in 1962. A Post-It note with a typed caption the describes the scene is also included, as it has a humorous printed image and caption at the right side. This photograph is from the original 1962 US theatrical release and is in very fine+ condition without any pinholes, tears, stains, or other flaws. The image quality is razor-sharp with fine detail and great contrast.
This was originally a two part presentation on the Westinghouse
Desilu Playhouse under the title of simply The Untouchables, the
title given to the subsequent television series. Abel Fernandez's character was based on William Jennings
Gardner, a real-life Native American member of Elliot Ness'
"Untouchables."
