Item description
There's just something SO Charming about these old copper and brass bed and foot warmers. Just about everybody these days can count on electric heat but that wasn't always the case. There was a time when (if you could afford one of these) an old bed warmer like this was a downright luxury. They would fill it with water and place it on the hot stove or fireplace to heat it up.............and then slide it between the bed linens to warm them. It could also double as a foot warmer.
Usually when we come across these they just aren't that visually pleasing. Many of them have had their tops re-soldered on....many are extremely tarnished. Many (including this one) have been dinged and dented from use through the years (part of their charm..). But THIS One has undergone several hours of restoration to bring the copper finish back to its' GORGEOUS old shine.
Further....it has been permanently SEALED so that you never have to worry about polishing it again! The body is copper while the screw on top is solid brass. The little handle is metal and original.
It is MARKED by the top opening and reads "GARANHERT MASSIV REINKUPPER". When you unscrew the top you see that it is also marked underneath the top with the letters "D.R.G.M.".
Measures 11" long, 8" wide 4 1/2" tall. SCROLL down to see severaly High Definition pictures from every angle for your inspection.
