Old WOVEN WICKER Italian Wine Bottle JUG DEMIJOHN These truly OLD Wicker Wrapped Wine Jugs are just getting almost Impossible to find anymore (and more and more Expensive when we DO find them). No wonder........as they've become so collectible most people won't part with them once they have at least ONE. It's a real art form and one can only Imagine the amount of work and time that went into actually creating them. The truly OLD ones like this are NOT going to be in PERFECT condition (that's the CHARM of them). There will be breaks to the weave (or as in this case most of the weave may be completely missing). However those that still display well are Highly sought after by Designers and collectors alike. We take INDIVIDUAL Pictures of EACH wicker jug we ever carry so the pictures you see BELOW are of the ACTUAL jug you will RECEIVE. As for THIS jug. MUCH of the wicker is missing. We've salvaged what we could. I REALLY struggled with whether to completely remove the weave or SALVAGE what I could. I like the way this one came out. Because by salvaging what I could you get a peek at BOTH the beautiful old wicker weave AND the RARE (colored) dark green HAND BLOWN glass jug that has hid underneath all these years. These dark green glass jugs are VERY collectible all by themselves. You typically find the clear glass jugs under these....so finding one of the dark green ones is just AWESOME. The glass isn't "perfect" but considering how old this piece it's in wonderful condition. There are some surface scratches. AND there are LOTS of bubbles in the glass. But the jug cleaned up and displays beautifully. Measures 16 1/4" tall by 9" wide. These have become EXTREMELY Popular in the Interior Design Market with designers using them to grace everything from kitchen countertops to fireplace mantels.
