Item description
Vintage original 8x10 in. US single-weight glossy photograph from the popular 1950's musical comedy romance, THE OPPOSITE SEX, released in 1956 by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) and directed by David Miller. In this remake of George Cukor's classic, The Women (1939), Kay Hilliard (June Allyson), a former nightclub singer, married ten years and mother of a young daughter, is informed that her husband Steven (Leslie Nielsen) is having an affair with chorus girl Crystal Allen (Joan Collins), so she goes to Reno for a divorce. After that, Steven marries Crystal, but Crystal isn't true. When Kay hears about this, she starts fighting to win her ex-husband back. The cast includes Dolores Gray, Ann Sheridan, Ann Miller, Jeff Richards, Agnes Moorehead, Charlotte Greenwood, Joan Blondell, Sam Levine, Bill Goodwin, and Alice Pearce.
The image features an interior close shot of Edith Porter (Joan Blondell) wrapped in a type of gown as she tries to talk to Sylvia Fowler (Dolores Gray), who covers the mouthpiece of the telephone during a conversation she's having. It is in near-fine condition with three 2-in. diagonal creases on the top left corner; a small tic-tac shaped indentation between Blondell's shoulder and her right hand; a 1 in. diagonal crease on the bottom right corner; and light signs of wear on the bottom left corner. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, writing, or other flaws.
