Vintage original 27x41 in. US one-sheet poster from the classic original version of DOCTOR DOLITTLE, released in 1967 by 20th Century-Fox and directed by Richard Fleischer. Based upon the novel by Hugh Lofting, after the animal communicating veterinarian (Rex Harrison) goes too far for his clientele, he and his friends escape their hometown to the sea in search of the Great Pink Sea Snail. The cast includes Samantha Eggar, Anthony Newley, and Richard Attenborough. Unrestored and folded as originally issued, this vintage original one-sheet poster is in fine- condition with creases at various places on the edges, some separation at the bottom of the center vertical foldline, and bleed-through in the left corner of the bottom border from where a prior owner hand wrote the film's title on the verso in blue marker. PLEASE NOTE that this poster is dated 1969 in the lower right corner (69/28) and the copyright date in the left half of the bottom borders shows as 1968, although we could not locate any information to indicate that the film was re-released theatrically, and there is another style of one-sheet poster that is dated 1968. We believe the film may have had a long initial theatrical run and 20th Century-Fox printed a different style poster for what is still considered the film's original US theatrical release.
