Item description
When I acquired this deviled egg plate it was firmly glued onto some cardboard in a display with a pair of kitchen towels. I believe it had been part of the display ever since it was made. It appears to be from the 1950s or 1960s. There are no signs of use. I managed to remove it from the cardboard, and used Goo-Gone to remove the glue. In the cleaning process the tiny Japan sticker came off. I used a piece of clear tape to stick it back on.
It has never been used to serve food, but it is vintage and has overall crazing of the glaze, front and back. It's in very good condition. The backs of the egg hollows are unglazed and will tend to pick up black or gray marks from touching anything.
The egg dish is 9 1/2 inches wide and 5/8 inch high. There are hollows for 10 deviled eggs and a rooster is painted in the center (underneath the glaze). It weighs 1 pound 1 ounce before packing for shipping.
This will be shipped by USPS Ground Advantage rate (except for International). Local delivery is always available for free to a mutually agreed upon meeting place. I will combine shipping if you purchase more than one small item from me. Please ensure that your shipping address in is accurate and that you have a safe place for package delivery. (If it is returned to me by the postal service because the address is wrong, your purchase price will be refunded, but the shipping cost has already been used to send it, so can't be refunded.)
I am happy to answer your questions about this piece.
