This is an ORIGINAL VINTAGE COCKTAIL PENDANT-RING that is a RING-DANT by PALAIS JEWELERS of NEW YORK. This ring is the signature RING-DANT design in that it CONVERTS TO A PENDANT! It was made during the 1960s from PLATINUM (stamped in shank along with RING-DANT) and only the pendant's bale is 14k gold (stamped 14K Patented and PALAIS). The pendant is also numbered H96. The pendant-ring is centrally prong-set with 1 NATURAL EMERALD that is an OVAL SHAPE weighing approx. 3 ct. It measures 7.98 x 11.23 mm and it is approx. 4 mm deep. Emeralds are classified as TYPE III stones, meaning that they almost always have inclusions that are visible to the unaided eye. Type III stones have 4 clarity grades ranging from 'Slightly Included", "Moderately Included", Heavily Included", and "Severely Included". This emerald would be graded "Moderately Included". The emerald?s halo is set with 18 BRILLIANT CUT DIAMONDS that weigh approx. .40 ctw. The ballerina setting is prong-set with 32 TAPERED BAGUETTE DIAMONDS that weigh approx. 1.92 ctw. All of these diamonds are in the E-F-G color range and VS1 to SI1 clarity range with a total weight of 2.32 ctw. The BALLERINA SETTING with a WIREWORK LOWER GALLERY is a BIG SHOW ON THE HAND or NECK! The head of the ring measures 7/8? long by 11/16? at the widest point and it is 1/2? thick. The pendant measures 15/16? long, including the bale.
