CALIFORNIA WATERCOLORS 1929-1945 by Susan M. Anderson. The California School of
Watercolor that rose to prominence during the period of the Great Depression was the only
important regional school of watercolor within the context of the American scene movement. The curator of a major museum exhibition of those paintings explains their importance.
DOUGLAS WILTRAUT by Valerie R. Rivers. This award-winning Pennsylvania artist uses
traditional egg tempera painting techniques to depict the effects of sunlight on his collection
