Vintage original 27x41 in. US one-sheet poster from the cult classic 1980’s horror film, HELLRAISER, released in 1987 by New World Pictures. Written and directed by Clive Barker, this was his feature film directing debut. Unrestored and folded as originally issued, this vintage original US one-sheet was SIGNED BY CLIVE BARKER in silver Sharpie above the film’s title when my partner and I met him at Meltdown Comics on Sunset Blvd. in Hollywood at a signing for one of his amazing books that was just published. The poster, which was theatre-used, is in fine- condition with a small chip and a piece of cellophane tape on the front and back of the top left corner and a couple of pinholes next to it; a few areas of light wear along the top and bottom borders; and light signs of wear at the top and bottom center cross-folds. Plot: Clive Barker's feature directing debut graphically depicts the tale of a man and wife who move into an old house and discover a hideous creature - the man's half-brother, who is also the woman's former lover - hiding upstairs. Having lost his earthly body to a trio of S M demons, the Cenobites, he is brought back into existence by a drop of blood on the floor. He soon forces his former mistress to bring him his necessary human sacrifices to complete his body... but the Cenobites won't be happy about this.
