Waterhouse "Montpellier" Historic Wallpaper "Montpellier" This pattern was reproduced for the Knox Memorial Mansion, called "Montpellier" in Thomaston, Maine. General Knox, a friend of George Washington, was one of the famous generals of the American Revolution and this country's first Secretary of War. Description: A lovely museum quality wallcovering featuring a historic handprinted fruit design that looks hand painted. This classic archival pattern dates to the 1700s but is truly timeless and works with all styles of decor from Arts and Crafts and Country to Victorian. Although the general practice today is to restrict fruit patterned wallpapers to the kitchen, that was not the case in the past. This paper will brighten and add a decorator's touch to any space from a hallway to an entire house. We have the last of it, so do not hesitate on this one. The same room with 10 ft. high ceilings would need 12 rolls. To paper the walls of an average 10 x 14 room with 8 ft. ceilings you will need, in general, a minimum of 14 rolls. If you have 10 ft. ceilings and a 16 x 20 room, you will likely need a minimum of 26 rolls. Patterns with large or drop-match repeats will require more.
