Item description
Green Globe Artichoke seeds:
Characteristics: Green Globe Artichoke (Cynara cardunculus var. scolymus) is an heirloom variety that produces multiple large round globes, delicious when young and full of heart when mature.
Growing Conditions: They need a fairly long, mild growing season and can be grown as an annual or perennial in zones 7+.
Harvesting: A good harvest of 3?4 heads can be expected throughout the summer, with improved yields in the second year of growth.
Uses: These artichokes are perfect for salads, French-style dishes, pizza, sandwiches, and pasta.
plant Green Globe Artichokes as annuals, follow these steps: 1. Start seeds indoors 8-10 weeks before the last frost. 2. Use a nutrient-rich soil and keep the seeds moist but not soggy. 3. Once the seedlings have developed 3-4 true leaves, they can be transplanted outdoors. 4. Choose a sunny location with well-drained soil. 5. Space the plants 4 feet apart. 6. Water the plants regularly and fertilize them every few weeks. Alternatively, you can sow the seeds approximately oe inch deep in individual cells or small pots, maintain a consistent soil temperature of 70-75F, and cover the seed trays with a humidity dome or plastic wrap to retain moisture Artichokes are best planted in early spring in cool climates or fall in warmer climates
1st class mail is used so there is no tracking. If you prefer tracking i recommend paying the extra fee for upgraded shipping which is 1 fee for as many packs of seeds as you want and alot quicker delivery
