Item description
Purple Top White Globe turnip seeds are from an old heirloom turnip dating back prior to 1880. The roots are smooth and nearly round, bright purple on top and creamy white in the portion below the soil line. They are mild flavoured and sweet, and can reach 13cm (5") in diameter but are better for eating when picked at 5-8cm (2-3"). The package contains over 170,000 seeds, and the turnip is ready to harvest in about 60 days. The turnip is an excellent source of protein for deer and other wildlife.
To plant Purple Top White Globe turnips, follow these steps:
Choose a cool weather period: Plant turnips three weeks before the last frost in spring or after the hottest part of summer for a fall crop.
Prepare the soil: Direct sow the seeds in rich, deeply worked soil and full sun.
Plant the seeds: Sow the seeds 1/2" deep in rows 12-18" apart.
Thin the seedlings: As the seedlings grow, thin them to 4-6" apart
1st class mail is used so there is no tracking. If you prefer tracking i recommend paying the extra fee for upgraded shipping which is 1 fee for as many packs of seeds as you want and alot quicker delivery
Be sure to check out my shop for alot of other vegetable and fruit seeds
