Item description

Type: Heirloom, Non-GMO Color: Dark green, thick, savoyed leaves Flavor: Rich, nutty flavor; excellent for fresh eating and cooking Growing Characteristics Days to Maturity: Approximately 45-55 days depending on soil and weather conditions Plant Height: Typically grows 8-12 inches tall Sowing Depth: Plant seeds 1/2 inch deep Recommended Spacing: Space plants 2-4 inches apart in rows 12-18 inches apart Ideal Temperature: Prefers temperatures between 45-75F, and is frost hardy Planting Tips Sowing Time: Plant in early spring or fall for continuous harvest. Aim to sow about 5-6 weeks before the last expected frost for spring crops and 6-8 weeks before the first frost for fall crops 2 . Soil Conditions: Thrives in well-drained, organic-rich soil with a pH of 6.0 - 7.0. Avoid nitrogen-rich fertilizers, which can damage the spinach 3 . Watering: Keep the soil consistently moist, especially during dry spells. About 1 inch of water per week is recommended Care and Maintenance Thinning: Thin seedlings to about 4-6 inches apart to promote healthy growth. Thinning can allow you to harvest baby spinach leaves 2 . Fertilization: Provide a balanced, slow-release fertilizer when planting and side-dress with additional fertilizer every 4-6 weeks during the growing season 2 . Pest Management: Common pests include aphids and leaf miners. Use insecticidal soap or strong water sprays to manage these pests Harvesting When to Harvest: Leaves are ready for harvest when they are between 3-6 inches long, usually around 6 weeks after planting 2 . Harvesting Method: Cut outer leaves regularly or harvest the entire plant at the base to encourage continuous growth. Store fresh spinach in the refrigerator for up to 10 days 1st class mail is used so there is no tracking. If you prefer tracking i recommend paying the extra fee for upgraded shipping which is 1 fee for as many packs of seeds as you want and alot quicker delivery Be sure to check out my shop for alot of other vegetable and fruit seeds
