The bit features 3 inch diameter stainless steel rings with a 3/8 inch diameter by 5.25 inch wide sweet iron snaffle bit mouthpiece. The sweet iron mouthpiece will rust over time with use. Harmless to horses, the rust has a sweet taste and promotes salivation which promotes lightness and quick response. This bit is designed for horses who are learning basic gaits, transitions, and obedience, and have begun to "break at the poll" and need a little extra persuasion to perform. This is a very comfortable bit for the horse due to its ergonomic curvature design of the snaffle mouthpiece. The unique curved bars of this Greg Darnall bit are ergonomically designed to accommodate the natural anatomy of the horse's mouth, wrapping the bars and lips instead of pinching as the mouthpiece rotates onto the tongue.
