Item description
Vintage original 8.5 x 14 in. Combined Continuity script from the 1970's made-for-television biopic drama, KATHERINE, broadcast in 1975 and directed by Jeremy Kagan. Katherine (also known as The Radical) intended to portray the time period of the Vietnam War, the title character was loosely based on Diana Oughton of the Weather Underground, who died in the 1970 Greenwich Village townhouse explosion when a bomb she was building accidentally exploded. Reviewers have also noted that Katherine also "borrowed from the then-current headlines involving Patty Hearst, another heiress whose exact level of voluntary involvement with the Symbionese Liberation Army remained hazy in 1975. Through a series of flashbacks, the film, told in semi-documentary fashion, retraces the main characters' lives through the years 1964-1972. The cast includes Art Carney, Henry Winkler, Julie Kavner, Jane Wyatt, Joe De Santis, and Hector Elias.
This Combined Continuity script was produced when the film was fully completed. It breaks the film down by each reel and notes the basic action, the dialogue, any music and effects, and also notes the feet and frame and total footage for each shot. It consists of 100 pages on an off-white legal-sized stock which were two-hole punched along the top edge and bound with two metal grommets. To the best of our knowledge it is complete in overall very fine- condition with light stains along the top edge of page 1 and signs of wear around both grommet holes; very random signs of wear on some of the corners; and a crease on the bottom of the last page with signs of wear around both grommet holes and along the top edge.
Katherine was originally telecast in a two-hour time slot on October 5, 1975 and was later syndicated in a 78-minute version.
