Item description
Vintage original 10.5 x 12.25 in. US double-weight matte photograph from the 1960s airport-themed drama, THE V.I.P.S, released in 1963 by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) and directed by Anthony Asquith, in which as fog delays departure for a group of travelers bound for New York City, they wait at the lounge of London's Heathrow airport, each passenger at a moment of crisis in his or her life.
The image depicts a beautiful close shot of Paul Andros (Richard Burton) in a tender moment with his wife, Frances (Elizabeth Taylor). This photograph was used for publication in a newspaper and features grease pencil and pencil marks on the recto and verso. Affixed to the verso are two related original newspaper clippings of this photo. It is in fair+ condition only as shown with multiple creases in the left half and one staple in the top right corner.
Provenance: The Hearst Herald Examiner newspaper archive.
