Some novel ideas are presented over past films such as the fast moving, ant-like zombies as mentioned. Plus, a gruesome way of finding out how fast the disease enters the bloodstream and finally an actual "cure" that no one thought of before in zombie filmdom. Loosely based on Max Brook's best-selling novel, fans were not pleased to learn that this is not an anthology but rather a travelogue film.
