Former U.N. worker Brad Pitt left a life of danger behind to be with his family; now he's being called back into action to battle a pandemic that's turned much of the world's population into fast-moving zombies. A change of pace (pun intended) as to the portrayal of slow-shuffling zombies in past films.
Intense, involving horror movie has us rooting for Pitt and the good guys he encounters in his globe trotting race to find the original source of the disease so a cure can be formulated. Some novel ideas are presented over past films such as the fast moving, ant-like zombies as mentioned. Plus, a gruesome way of finding out how fast the disease enters the bloodstream and finally an actual "cure" that no one thought of before in zombie filmdom.
Loosely based on Max Brook's best-selling novel, fans were not pleased to learn that this is not an anthology but rather a travelogue film.
