Item description
Vintage original 27x41 in. US one-sheet poster from the popular 1950's British Scotland Yard-themed mystery drama, THE THIRD KEY, released in 1956 in the US by Rank Film Distributors of America, produced by Michael Balcon and directed by Charles Frend. The sleuths of Scotland Yard (Jack Hawkins and John Stratton) try to solve a series of burglaries.
The image features a great design featuring an over-the-shoulder shot of a man wearing a red smoking jacket as we see his right arm reach out in front of him as we see more of his image in shadow on the floor in front of him as he approaches a safe in the background. Printed for the film's original 1956 US theatrical release, this vintage original one-sheet is unrestored in very fine condition with a small area of separation at the bottom crossfold and a Canadian censor stamp in the top right panel. There are no pinholes, tears, stains, or other flaws and this unbacked/unrestored example is in its very desirable original state.
This was the final film made by the famous Ealing Studios in London.
