**GROWN ON OUR FARM HERE IN TENNESSEE**
** 7 ISSAI BABY KIWI SEEDS **
Kiwi 'Issai' (Self Fertile)
Actinidia arguta 'Issai'
fruits are grape size with very thin skins that can be eaten. has very sweet and nice flavor. fruits can be eaten fresh or made into jam, wine, and juice.
Sometimes known as the 'Hardy Kiwi' (as they can stand temperatures as low as -25C (-13F) these tough plants are also known as the 'Baby Kiwi', 'Cocktail Kiwi' or 'Kiwi Berry'.
More compact in habit than other varieties of Baby Kiwi, Issai also has the added benefit of being self fertile.
After flowering in June, small green fruits dotted white mature over the Summer ready for harvest late September / October.
While the fruits are fairly small, yield can be prolific - with a mature plant producing literally hundreds of fruits, and up to 1000 is not unusual. Smooth skinned, the fruits do not need peeling either.
Self fertile (but will not pollinate other female varieties).
Compact in habit - climbing (with support) to around 12 feet (3.65 metres) tall - but can of course be controlled with pruning.
