Item description
Giant Yellow Manzano Pepper plant (1) bare-rooted, packed in wet paper and plastic.
These pepper plants live for years and produce loads of peppers. Hot, fruity, thick-walled walled and delicious. I am offering the yellow large variety medium 10-12" plants shipped quickly to your door. They are cool-weather-loving plants. They will live for years. They will freeze, though, in winter if temps go below 31 F. Grow outside year-round in zones 10, 9. Grow in a greenhouse at least during winter in cooler zones. Yield is 2 crops a year or more. 90-120 days for 1st crop.
Manzano Chile Pepper (Capsicum pubescens) is a species of the genus Capsicum (pepper), known as rocoto. Indigenous to the cloud forests of Central and South America. Because of their evolution in cloud forests, they will grow and tolerate cool weather. (These are some of the only kinds of chilies that grow in cool fog like is present in the Bay Area of California.) The species name, pubescens, means hairy, which refers to the hairy leaves of this pepper. The peppers have black seeds. They are perennial and live for years. They are very hot and delicious with thick walls and are well suited for eating fresh in stews, soup, salsa, or sauce and drying. They are excellent fresh in stir fry, eggs, stews, and anything else that goes well with fresh chilies. The beautiful chocolate brown color makes these chilies an excellent addition to your garden. They are extremely rare and ornamental. They reach up to 5 feet tall if allowed to grow for several years in a light to no frost area. There is an orange, red large, brown (chocolate), and Honey Badger variety available as well as red teardrop and yellow teardrop varieties. More varieties coming soon. Check all varieties at lancer232007 at or Mellon Farm .
You will receive 1 plant bare root wrapped in wet newspaper and enclosed in a plastic bag and then carefully boxed and shipped priority (approximately 2-3 days shipping).
