Item description
Cute vintage 1940's house dress - wartime clothing type budget friendly/demure clothing. Handmade, machine sewn, hand stitched hem. Fabric supplies were also limited during this time. This house dress is made of a pretty plaid seersucker, textured type material, cotton or cotton/blend.
Measurements - undearm to underam is approx 18 inches across. The sleeve opening is approx 6". The waist across is approx 17 inches and the hips approx 18 inches. From bottom of collar to hem is approx 39" long.
There is a small section underneath one arm that needs to be restitched. Also, there is a button on the front that needs to be moved - there is one decorative button that doesn't serve a purpose and it needs to be moved a few inches to actually be used to button the mid-section.
Lovely vintage house frock - representative of what would be worn at home, to grocery, on errands. This dress is from a large local estate vintage clothing collection.
