Vintage Taxco Mexico Sterling Silver Stone Inlay Brooch Pin Mexican Sterling Silver Pendant Mosaic Inlay Geometric Design Circle Shape Inlaid Stones Turquoise Lapis Lazuli Safety Clasp Taxco Silversmith This is a lovely Taxco Mexico Sterling Silver 925 brooch, pin or pendant signed by a Taxco silversmith. It is marked on the back in a circle Hecho en Taxco, with 925 in the center. There are some initials in the circle after the word Taxco, but I can't make them out. One looks like it may be a T. It also has an Eagle Mark with a number 3 inside. This classic medallion design has an Aztec labyrinth or geometric pattern of thin, delicate silver inlay in the raised center made from what I think are deep green Turquoise and blue Lapis Lazuli crushed stones inlaid in a mosaic pattern. There are five dangling rain drops or teardrops, which are also stone inlaid hanging from the main part of the brooch. It has a lovely rope or scalloped style border of loops and twisted silver. It has a loop on the back so it can be worn as a pendant if desired. It has a safety clasp as well. The pin is in very good condition, all the inlay is intact and it has a wonderful vintage patina to it, which I did not want to polish. (I think you can clearly see the details in the enlarged pictures). It measures just over 1 3/4 inches in diameter and with the tear shaped drops or dangles it is 2 1/4 inches tall. It weighs .6 ounces on my postage scale, which converts to 17 grams. This is a wonderful example of Taxco silver artistry to add to your collection of vintage Mexican Jewelry.
