I've been an inventor and entrepreneur most of my life. I have developed numerous products and even co-founded a business accelerator to support other entrepreneurs and their startups. I frequently lecture on innovation and entrepreneurship at industry conferences and universities. I also mentor college students through internships and providing career counseling. WINO came about as I was preparing for an annual talk I give 7th and 8th graders preparing for their annual "Innovation Week" competition. I wanted to encourage them to see - and solve - everyday problems that others miss, and was looking for an example. I glanced at the bar in our home and seeing an open wine bottle with a drip running down the side reminded me how much I have always been bothered by wine drips ruining a bottle's presentation, or staining a white tablecloth - with current solutions to the problem, expensive, bulky or otherwise not efficient. That started my journey to the invention of WINO wine drip rings. The only question left was whether the consumers of those billions of bottles worldwide cared as much about drips as me. Fortunately I am finding that many wine enthusiasts, or even casual consumers, care as much as I do. I hope you are one of them!
