Item description

The Spirit of Liberty: or Junius's Loyal Address By Junius, Junior No printer named, 1770 The identity of Junius remains a mystery, more than 225 years later. He (or she) contributed several letters to the Public Advertiser, which were republished in book form in the early 1770s. This volume is written in dialogue-form, and touches on the same themes as the collected letters, namely: how the British Government under King George has been taking away powers that rightfully belong to the people. Although the theme would seem to lend itself to application by the then-warring American colonies, Junius's concern was primarily for inhabitants of Great Britain, not the colonies. This edition published anonymously.
