Made by Jess Franco, this jungle thriller is more entertaining than you might expect if you keep your expectations low. Tom Nelson relates in flashback about his ordeal aboard a cargo plane hijacked over the South American Jungle. As the Chile government is being overthrown it's a hurried passenger list. A former banker buys his way on board and has a suitcase full of stolen gems. The attempted hijacking crashes the plane in the Matto Grosso jungle where greedy flight steward Bob Gonzales steals the gems and commits two murders to cover his tracks. This whiplash-inducing adventure throws every typical menace at it's stock characters for maximum entertainment. Violent natives, jungle animals, revolutionaries and mobsters are some of the obstacles the group must overcome if they are to survive. A woman-child who dances her teddy bear to lounge music on the radio while monkeys look on lovingly is Jess Franco at his most demented. The movie also has a fair amount of nudity for a story that really doesn't call for any.
