This is the 8th piece of the Norse Goddess Hel Leather Fantasy Armor which is a custom one-of-a-kind Single Rune In-scripted Leather Shin Guard that was specifically made for a fantasy Viking Mythology character for a renaissance faire. This is designed with the Norse Goddess "Hel" in mind. She is the goddess of the underworld in Norse mythology and is half dead and half alive, therefore each piece of this unique costume is different representing this feature. This fantasy Shin Guard Leg Armor is in brownish burgundy with gold trim band at the top and bottom with random rune inscribed gold lettering. It has a gilded gold diamond pattern across the front. Would be a great item for a Halloween costume or another fantasy faire and costume-con. Description: This is thick hard formed leather without a suede liner since it's meant to go over a pair of boots. It measures approximately 1/8" inch thick by 9-1/4" inches long by 15-1/4" inches wide at the top of the calf 7-1/2" inches at the ankle. It has two leather straps buckles. Condition is Excellent showing some minor scuffing on the gold gilding paint on the trim edging. However, that does not detract from the use or function of this piece and makes it look battle worn and aged. It has some random carved gold Rune lettering throughout. Issue: This also was a return and took 1-1/4 year to come back because the vendor misplaced this item for repair. They sent a replacement that was nothing close to this and returned this one unrepaired so I am offering it "As Is". A good leather-smith should be able to fix this since it very simple. It is missing one of the buckle straps when the rivet came undone. I no longer have this part, so one will have to be made for you. Since it's original to the costume and matches one of the bracers, I am offering it as a companion, but will be listing the replacements ones as well as an alternative option. However, they do not match as well with the original arm bracer. Due to the fact that it took over a year this time to come back and still was not correct, I decided not to send it back for further repair and selling it "As Is". A good leather person should be able to do these minor repairs, but I just don't have the time to wait another year or the money to find someone else to repair this. I will be parting out other pieces of this custom costume as I have time for taking photographs, writing the ads and listing it. There are arm braces or vambraces, shin leg guards, a belt, a single skull pauldron and a breastplate. Some pieces have writing in Rune engraved on them and others don't. One side is for the living and the other for the dead showing some bones which are also hand formed out of leather. This costume has only been worn once. Some pieces had quality issues and may need some attention from a leather-smith. I have done what I can to make this right but unfortunately, that didn't happen as expected when dealing with a long distance vendor and communication can get rather complicated due to personal issues. So I leave that up to the buyer to decide on the other pieces and will describe any defects. This leather bracer has no such defect issues and is in excellent condition.
