Cedric Gibbons' art design always looks fresh and vibrant, the songs and music are unforgettable and the exaggerated acting perfectly captures the proper note. As a side bar to modernist, urban legend has it that if you turn the sound off and start the CD 'Dark Side of the Moon' by Pink Floyd when the MGM lion roars at the begining of the film itself, the soundtrack sort of matches up to the onscreen action.
