Northfield Cannon Valley Steam Up One of the nice traditions for Minnesota steam locomotive enthusiasts was the annual visit to Jim Machacek's 2-foot-gauge Northfield Cannon Valley Railroad. The first weekend in October, Jim would fire up his little 0-4-0 (built in Czechoslovakia) and give free rides around his property.
