This listing is for a hand carved ceramic vase. The vase is glazed in a glossy black glaze in which the picture is then carved (sgraffito) into the white body. The ceremonial procession is Greek in style but I've seen this type of vase attributed to Chinese Cizhou pottery and reproduction Cizhou pottery. This may be dated to the 1940s . I've seen similar vases with stickers from Republic of China Taiwan. The procession features a Chinese Tang horse pulling a chariot with people in ceremonial garb walking in the procession. On the base there looks like there was a long sticker, similar to the Taiwan stickers I've seen on old vases. but there is also wrirting on the rim No. 96, and OLD 7" tall. quick ship non smoking thanks! -
