The Ambassador Hotel was a landmark in Los Angeles, operating from 1921 to 1989.
The Cocoanut Grove was a famous nightclub within the hotel, hosting celebrities and six Academy Awards ceremonies.
The ashtray is a souvenir, likely sold at the hotel or nightclub.
The hotel was also the site of Robert F. Kennedy's assassination in 1968.
The Ambassador Hotel was demolished in 2006, and the Robert F. Kennedy Community Schools now occupy the site
