It is from an old stock liquidation so it is brand new never worn, although it already have decades of age. 8.1 grams which is 40.5 carats. Just about 1 inches long, 15 mm tall and 13 mm wide at the base. Nice quality gemstone with good color bloom. Great to wear alone on a chain (need a good jeweler to install a 14k or 18k bail) or string it as a pendant for a beaded necklace. It does have a hole near the tail that can be used for stringing.
