This is a super cute and charming...not to mention unique...set of 7 vintage embroidered tea towels. Probably from the 40s or 50s. They feature lively Chinese people doing kitchen chores, but in a playful way! They play tunes on glasses, use pot lids for cymbals, juggle pots, pans and dishes, "direct" with spoons and forks, and more! Their long pigtails swing playfully. Asian-style labels: Pots, Bowls, Glasses, Dishes, Pans, Silver, and China. They are hemmed all around with hand stitched running stitches. Fabric is unbleached muslin. The embroidery is mostly in red, yellow, black, brown, and jadeite green. 29" x 18". These were in my daughter's personal collection. They are in immaculate condition - except one has a few yellow spots. From a smoke-free home. These were in my daughter's personal collection when her house was decorated with asian style collectibles. They are in immaculate condition - except one has a few yellow spots (from a guest who cleaned up spilled curry powder and she didn't find out until too late. It's not terrible, but not perfect. when the towel is folded, it doesn't show.) I always loved these - they are just so adorable! From a smoke-free home.
