Vintage Scammell's Lamberton Light Grey Gravy Boat is in Excellent Condition! The Scammell China Co. was founded in 1923 when David Scammell bought the Maddock's Lamberton Works in Trenton, NJ. The company produced medium heavy gauge commercial china, most of it custom decorated. Sterling China Co. bought Scammell in 1954, shut down the Lamberton Works and moved much of the equipment to their plant in Wellsville, OH. Earlier Lamberton China is listed under the Maddock (USA) category. Since the company went out of business in 1954 its been hard to find alot of information about Scammell's. I am unable to date this piece nor do I know what line it is from. I think that this must be a later piece produced because the backstamp is so simple compared with the few backstamps I have seen online. Buyer pays shipping and handling. Paypal Only.
