This is a ceramic porcelain hinged trinket jewelry box; it has a maroon, red color with a beautiful portrait of lady on the top, the inside is also porcelain with a floral scene. It measures approximately 3 1/2" by 2 1/2" wide, it is 1 1/16" tall with lid on and 1/4" deep. It doesn't look to have ever been used. The lady I purchased everything from had lots of individual standalone pieces she purchased from antique stores, but she also had a home kiln that she made items with and then got together with friends and painted the pieces.
