Item description

Up for sale this week is this beautiful dinnerware from Nippon China, floral boquet pattern, with a ring of yellow X's and O's alternating around the edge in 2 separate rows. This is a round covered casserole dish, in good condition, no chips or cracks. It measures 10 1/4" from handle to handle, 8 1/2" wide, and is 2 1/2" deep without the lid. This piece doesn't look like it was used or handled much, as the paint and trim are in good condition. The bottom rim and the inside of the lid don't have the glaze on it, it is just the raw stoneware, very unique. I believe this is the 10th mark in the 1891-1921 era. The lady that owned these had them stacked without anything in between each piece so some of the trim and gold is missing. It looks like she used all the dinner plates because they have faint utensil marks when you turn them in the light you can see these. They are also handpainted after they apply the glaze which is why the gold usually rubs off, but overall this set is in good condition. I believe this used to be a set for 12, but over the years pieces have been broke. I do have a complete set for 8, but I am listing everything separately. Please check out my store, as I have many specialy pieces for this set. There are imperfections in the glaze of these pieces, they did a heavy overglaze and when it went in the kiln, some of the bubbles would pop making irregularities in the piece, like small black spots or some runs. It is a beautiful design, and will set an elegant table. If you would like to buy more than 1 item just email for a price. I have many items for sale and I can't be an expert on them all, so please email with questions before bidding and I'll try to answer you. I don't sale any items that are damaged without pointing to the flaws, but I am only human. All of my items come from estate sales and auctions, so they are considered used items and will be sold as is. These items came from a sale in West Texas. Thanks!
