This is an unused set of vintage Christmas Bears button covers by NONY New York. There are 6 Christmas button covers on the card. They have never been used, but have been opened so that I could take photos. The card is bent and the plastic cover is roughed up (This happened in the store before I purchased them). The button covers are in perfect condition. They each are approximately 1 inch by 1 1/4 to 1 1/2 inches in size. They are meant to be used on a button-down shirt, to cover the plain buttons on the shirt, perhaps for a party or special occasion. The button covers are bears in various holiday poses. The top bear has a Christmas wreath around him/her. The 2nd bear is playing with red and green ribbons. The 3rd bear is dressed in green pants with red shoes, a red bow and a green and red holiday cap. The 4th bear is unclothed except for a green collar, and it is bearing a gift wrapped in red with a green ribbon and bow. The 5th bear is wearing red nightclothes with white trim, a stocking cap in red with white trim, and black slippers or boots, and is holding a green and white candy cane. The 6th or bottom bear is an angel with yellow and white wings, a red bow at the neck, and is wearing a white and brown romper. The bears are made of a resin-like plastic. They are glued on the front of the actual button covers, which are made of an unknown metal that's brass-colored. The back piece has a slot that will slide behind the button, and the top part snaps over it to hold it on when it's in place. This set was probably made in the 1990s; it was originally sold at the Mervyn's Department Store in the late 1990s/early 2000s. I am happy to answer your questions about this piece.
