My friend purchased this Silver Medal during a trip to Italy in 1957 and wore it for about 20 years before it was put away and forgotten about. Recently rediscovered, it has been safely and securely stored for over 40 years. With a NICE Warm Patina and age appropriate wear, it is in EXCELLENT Condition with NO damage; it comes from a smoke-free, pet-free home. With a diameter of approximately 5/8ths of an inch, the front obverse shows a highly detailed, left facing, profile bust of Pope Pius XII wearing zucchetto and Mozzetta with the words “Pius XII Pontifex M" around the edge. A highly detailed, raised depiction of “Saint Peter With The Keys To the Church In Rome" is on the back reverse and the words “San Pietro” are around the edge.
