The oxidation had severely pitted the oil reservoir. This lamp was beyond restoration but too nice to not revive. The amber glass shade is a beautiful pairing against the glow of gold. The shade has foliage and roses in it and by itself is worth around $50 . The marble base is clean and white and is probably from Italian mines. The only issue is that the knob is in contact with the glass chimney cup.
