Item description

Vintage Half Doll Nude German Hands Arms Away Pincushion 7195 Victorian Style Small 3 1/2 Inches Karl Schneider or Gebruder Heubach Glazed Porcelain Bisque Marie Antoinette Hand Painted Germany Pincushion Doll Teepuppen Demi-Figurine Woman Grey Gray Hair Extended Hands Arms Early 1900s Madame Pompadour Hairstyle This is a lovely vintage porcelain half doll. These dolls have no legs as they were meant to be used to adorn a pincushion, or to have a dress added and be attached to a frame as a topper for various items such as tea cozies, whisk brooms, powder puffs, etc. There are 3 holes (1 in front and 2 in back) for fastening to a lower body or pin cushion either by sewing or wiring. There is an impressed number on the back, 7195 and another number or mark below that I cannot read. She looks to be a Karl Schneider or Gebruder Heubach. If anyone can tell me for sure, I would appreciate it. She is approximately 3 inches tall and 2 inches wide from elbow to elbow. This stunning and beautiful half doll has grey or gray curly hair piled up on her head in a Madame Pompadour or Marie Antoinette bouffant hair style that flows down in long sausage curls around her face to her shoulders. Her body is a glazed creamy ivory white porcelain. She is nude and her hands with well delineated fingers are placed in a demure pose in front of her chest, but not touching the body. Both arms are extended away from her body, which is the most desirable style. She has a sweet and beautifully hand painted face, blushing cheeks, red lipstick and delicate and finely detailed features. She is in excellent vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged pictures. There are no chips or cracks or repairs, which is rare for a half doll with open arms and hands. There is a little roughness along her rim where she would be attached that is from when she was made, not damage. She is most likely from the early 1900s when they were so popular. This would make a wonderful addition to any collection of vintage Half-Dolls. She would be lovely sitting on your dressing table or dresser, these are very collectible and because they are small make a stunning display.
