This is a really unique, cast iron of some sort, security latch. I am unsure what it was used for or even how it was used , however the top lever can be moved up and down ( with a spring load). When up it exposes whatever the latch covers, but still with limited access. When down, it can have a lock inserted to secure the latch in the down position. Only thing that I see is a marking that reads PATT APPD FOR. THis appers to be super duty lock, probably securred with a couple strong bolts on the bottom. Looks very specialized. Measures approx 4.5" at the widest, by 1.75" and is approx. 1.75" deep. Screw holes are 2.75" center to center hole.
If you have a idea what it is, please let me know, because I am clueless. Thanks in advance.
