Vintage Arch Avary Eagle Bird Pendant Necklace Gold Brass Signed 1988 Goldtone Metal Artistan Made Patriotic National Bird Made in United States U.S.A. Flying Soaring Wings Dimensional Textured Unisex Jewelry Men Women This is a beautifully detailed Eagle Pendant and Necklace made of fine brass. It is signed on the back “Arch Avary Jr 1988” and “Fine Brass”. The pendant is very substantial in weight and the combined pendant and necklace have a total weight of 1.15 ounces on my postage scale, which converts to 32.60 grams. It measures approximately 3 inches for the wing span and is 2 7/8 inches from the tai to the tip of the beak. This majestic bird pendant is a wearable piece of art, the craftsmanship is obvious in the details in the wings and the feathers. The chain is 21 inches in length. I don’t believe the chain is original to the pendant. Arch Avary passed away at the age of 86 in 2017. He was known for his miniature sculpting. This Bald Eagle in flight necklace pendant is in great vintage condition as you can see by the enlarged photographs. There is an area of slight finish loss on the back of the pendant; I have marked it with an arrow in the photograph.
