Item description

What an amazing piece of California Pottery! This covered dish is softly oval and shaded pink. The surprise is the lime green interior glaze! The lid has 3 roses with leaves in the applied technique. The base is Victorian ornate with swags, floral and scroll work. Piece is handsigned Valley Vista CA #47. Research shows this indicates 1947 as date of creation. Valley Vista produced pottery 1946-1962. There are a couple flea bites on edges of roses. There is a vertical hairline crack on lip of base. (Detail Photo #4) This treasure is at least 75 years old. Measures oval base 7.25" X 6" X 2.5" tall without lid.
