Item description

FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION (FAA) Challenge Coin. This is a great looking FEDERAL AVIATION ADMINISTRATION challenge Coin. Coin displays the Federal Aviation Administration logo on the front and the Great Seal of the United States on the reverse. Coin is about 1 9/16" in diameter. All details are raised lettering. Coin is contained in an acrylic air tight holder. The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) is the national aviation authority of the United States. As an agency of the United States Dept of Transportation, it has authority to regulate and oversee all aspects of American civil aviation. The Federal Aviation Act of 1958 created the organization under the name Federal Aviation Agency. The agency adopted its current name in 1966 when it became a part of the U.S. Department of Transportation.
