Item description

This is the 2021 USPS issue of 20 Three Ounce 95 cent self adhesive stamps featuring the 33rd stamp in the Literary Arts series honoring Ursula K. Le Guin (1929-2018), who expanded the scope of literature through novels and short stories inspired by her lifelong interests in mythology, anthropology, feminism, and Taoism. Le Guin demonstrated that no writer needed to be limited by the boundaries of any genre. The background shows a scene fro her landmark1969 novel, The Left Hand of Darkness, in which an envoy from EArth named Genly Ai escapes from a prison camp across the wintry planet of Gethen with Estraven, a disgraced Gethenian politician. The artist for this stamp was Donato Giancola. Antonio Alcala served as art director. Booklet measures 7" x 7-1/4". Mint, never-hinged. Shipping is $5.25 within the USA. International shipping rates apply. Shipping always combined for multiple purchases. Please enjoy browsing the store for lots more STAMP COLLECTIONS often.
