Item description

• This Copenhagen Museum Reproduction Of Apostle James The Less Statue measures approximately 8"Tall, 3"Wide and 2.5"Deep. • This Copenhagen Museum Reproduction Of Apostle James The Less Statue is made of cold case polyresin, hand painted and polished individually. The finish of the sculpture is white with yellowish tone. • Bertel Thorvaldsen's work and personal gift to the Copenhagen Museum in Denmark showcases the unique features of the 12 apostles of Jesus Christ. The museum also features 'Christus' as the focal point, originally made of Carrara marble. You can find the original masterpieces in life size at the "Christ Hall" at the museum. • Saint James the Less, the author of the first Catholic Epistle, was the son of Alphaeus of Cleophas. His mother Mary was either a sister or a close relative of the Blessed Virgin, and for that reason, according to Jewish custom, he was sometimes called the brother of the Lord. The Apostle held a distinguished position in the early Christian community of Jerusalem. St. Paul tells us he was a witness of the Resurrection of Christ; he is also a "pillar" of the Church.
