He was 88 years old, born December 27, 1922, in Cleveland, Ohio. He moved to Poway, California, in 1960. Thomas served in WW II until wounded in 1945. He was a paratrooper in the U.S. Army. He graduated from McKinley High School, Canton, Ohio; attended The Cleveland School of Art; and the Cleveland Institute of Art, graduating in 1952 with a BA in Fine Art. Thomas was a long time Boy Scout Leader, Member of the San Diego Artist Assoc., Solana Beach Chamber of Commerce, Optimist Club of Solana Beach, Member of Masonic Lodge #35, San Diego. He taught for many years at San Diego City College and on TV Classroom. He had a Studio in Balboa Park before opening his present studio in Solana Beach. His works of art are on display all over the United States. He was also instrumental in restoring many buildings in Balboa Park."
