This is for 2 comic books, Sept 24th 1977, volumn 1, No. 1, and Oct 1st, 1977 Vol1, No 2. These are the first 2 in a series of 155.
These are in good shape. I am not a grader, but from reading the definitions it looks to be very fine to near mint, but please judge for yourself. Is darker on the spine, and has some spots throughout the front on #1. Very slight bends throughout both. No ohter issues that I can see. Newsprint shows through, which is normal for this type.
They were
part of the Sunday newspaper Comics section, printed in color, by the Winnipeg
Tribune (in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada); This was the FIRST newspaper to
take Sunday pages put them into a comic book format; The covers
interiors are all printed on Newsprint paper, so they can be fragile. Winnipeg
is fairly small commity, and these comic inserts were added to the paper as a
bonus. With age, and dynamics of comics along with crosswords in the
back, these are very hard to come by in like new condition without being
written in, or dried out in some way - actually most were thrown out with the
newspapers, so rare by those standards and very collectible. They were
recognized for being the 1st Sunday's in Comic Format. Most collectors
are not even aware of this significance, but are highly sought after. The
Complete Series runs 155 different issues from Volume 1 #1(Sept.24/1977)
to Vol.4#36 (Sept.6/1980);
