As stated, the contemporary copy of Tess is off the retail shelf new. The 1964 copy of TESS is VERY GOOD. No structural issues. The cover is intact. The book is super clean. No underlining or markings of any sort. The only flaw of note is a 4 centimeter long swipe of black ink on the inside front cover that apparently is covering the previous owners name.
