Item description

Factory Sealed Brand New 3 Disc Set B1R.M-(H-918-15) --6oz onal The enormously popular detective series Taggart originally aired in Scotland, on that country's STV network (a franchise of Britain's ITV) during the early 1980s. The program follows the ongoing saga of Detective Chief Inspector Jim Taggart (Mark McManus), a mordant, acid-mouthed cop with a bulldoggish exterior, willing to use virtually any techniques at his disposal to solve crimes in the Glaswegian streets. Its combination of grisly violence and byzantine narratives made it an instant favorite of viewers and kept it on the air for decades - in fact, long after the 1994 death of McManus. This set begins with the second episode of Series Three, Funeral Rites (1987) - where Taggart investigates the presence of a charred corpse in an unused railway tunnel, and unexpectedly nosedives into a bizarre world of black magic and voudon. Also included are Series Three, episode three, Cold Blood (1987) about a wife who unapologetically pumps six bullets into her husband - after the body is dead - and Series Four, Episode 1, Dead Giveway (1988), the investigation of a church youth group member's sudden collapse.
